Whamies Diaper Pail Liner-Reivew and GIVEAWAY! **CLOSED**

I'd heard much about the award winning Whamies Diaper Pail liner that is known for its economy and high performance, so I was pretty excited for the opportunity to try one out and offer you a chance to win one for yourself!

Overview of the product:

-The Wahmies Diaper pail liner is a diaper service quality.

-It is lined with durable Polyurethane Laminated Polyester (PUL).

-It has only 2 strong, heat bonded, water proof seams to help keep all the moisture inside.


-It fits most large diaper pails, being about 29 inches tall and will fit the typical 54qt pail, or a 13 gallon trash can with a 53" circumference.

- Whamies diaper pail liner has a patch of fabric attached at the seam for adding a few drops of essential oil to help with possible odors.


-Machine wash and dry. All you have to do is throw it in with the diapers!

-It has an elastic band for closure that hides from view when liner is in your pail but can be used close the pail when needed or keep curious children out!



Things I like about this diaper pail liner:

1. I love the idea of the fabric for putting a few drops of essential oils!

2. The small elastic closure on the inside is definitely great for safety. It's nice not having to worry about a long draw string and keeping that away from the kiddos! This is my favorite thing about Whamies diaper pail liner! When I went to stay with family for a week, I took my whole diaper pail because the liners I had did not have a closure. This will be perfect for longer trips! No pail needed, and no long strings to deal with!

Just bunch up fabric at the top and pull band around it.

Then loop it around again to make it nice and tight!


3. I love how sturdy it is.

4. I love that it is made in the USA and that it does not contain PVC, Pthalate, or lead!

5. I like the elastic around the rim that will fit a wide variety of pails, from my small regular trashcan to a standard diaper pail!



*I was a bit confused about one thing at first, and thanks to a forum conversation I found via Google, I know I'm not the only one. I assumed that the "shiny" side of the PUL fabric faced where the diapers go, which is how I've used my pail liners in the past (though now I'm not sure I was using them correctly). I thought it was strange then, that the swatch of fabric for essential oils was on the "dull" side and the elastic band for closing was on the "shiny" side. I thought it would work much better the other way around.

It turns out that, as stated in the instructions, which I'd misunderstood due to my own preconceptions, the shiny side faces the inside of the pail. I'd skimmed over this seeing "inside" and assuming it was referring to where the diapers go, again because that is what I expected.

I still could not understand why the fabric and elastic closure would be placed as they are, so I did some more research and read that the fabric, not shiny side of the PUL should be visible over the side of the pail. Then, I finally got it, and saw the directions through "literal" eyes.

This diaper pail liner is used with the shiny side of the PUL facing the inside of the pail, not the diapers! It works great, and makes sense. The whole thing is water resistant, including the seams. You're just going to throw it right in the wash with the diapers, so why not let the pretty side show?! :)

This misunderstanding was completely, my own, and not the fault of Whamies. Their instructions were clear. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been confused, however, and felt like I should share this part of my experience here to help others avoid confusion.
